Happened to be nearby and ventured for a visit to this iconic eatery in Tampa and treated ourselves to 2 slices of cake [Confetti and Hawaiian Princess] and 2 sandwiches [Beef Martini and their award-winning Cuban]. People were very friendly. Plenty of tables to eat at. Thursday late afternoon between 4 and 5 was not too busy. Sandwiches and cakes were delicious! The Hawaiian Princess cake is pictured but the Confetti cake we ate too fast to show! What we ordered could be eaten for lunch or dinner. Enjoy!

Wright’s made our wedding cake and it was fantastic! 100% the best wedding cake we’ve ever had. HOWEVER, when we called to order it, the girl from Wright’s had no idea what we meant when I asked for a “classic wedding cake.” She initially said that wasn’t an option on their list. So I had to describe to her what a classic wedding cake is - white cake, buttercream frosting with almond extract… Then she asks if we wanted raspberry filling. At this point I was half laughing, half crying, and half considering finding a different bakery. But eventually I taught her what a classic wedding cake was and had her write down exact instructions. We were a bit apprehensive but by the grace of God, we ended up with a beautiful, elegant, delicious, classic wedding cake.

Wright’s Gourmet House is one of my favorite lunch spots! I always get The Golden Gate, but I highly recommend asking for it grilled—it takes an already great sandwich to the next level. The bread gets perfectly crispy, the ingredients are always fresh, and everything just comes together so well. You also can’t leave without trying the strawberry cake. It’s loaded with fresh strawberries, and you can really taste how fresh they are in every bite. It’s light, delicious, and the perfect way to end the meal. If you’re in Tampa, this place is definitely worth the visit. It’s one of those spots I find myself coming back to again and again.

Looked up the best sandwiches in Tampa, and this place kept popping up in reviews and on Reddit. We stopped right after leaving the airport because we were starving. The place was much bigger than I expected. I checked out all the desserts, there were plenty to choose from. Tons of merch, and the ordering system was very organized. There was also plenty of seating spread across three different dining areas. We got the Texan and the Golden Gate. The bread was soft, and the vegetables on both sandwiches were incredibly fresh. The tomato looked amazing all by itself. The peach chutney on the Golden Gate is a bit heavy, but it's still a great sandwich. I didn't need quite that much, but I really enjoyed the flavor combination. All of the meat was fresh and moist. Our food took about 10 minutes during what appeared to be a pretty busy weekday lunch. The banana apple walnut cake was delicious and very unique. We also tried the Greek potato salad, homestyle potato salad, and pesto pasta. The pesto pasta was actually my favorite, full of flavor without being overwhelming. Wright’s Gourmet isn’t just a Tampa staple — it’s consistently one of the best experiences you can count on. The food is always top-notch. From the salads and soups to the sandwiches, everything is fresh, high quality, and incredibly well prepared. And the desserts… the cakes, cupcakes, and cookies are absolutely next level. What really sets them apart, though, is the full experience. The space is clean, welcoming, and runs with a level of consistency that’s hard to find. A special thank you to Legacy Sanders, who went above and beyond for our recent order. He was on time, professional, and took the initiative to set everything up for us — making the entire experience seamless. We’ve been using Wright’s for years, both for team meetings and even just a personal pick-me-up, and they never miss.
